Version 32.2
The July 21, 2026 release adds a filter to compose SDR into HDR, dynamic bitrate for multitrack streaming and a new add-source dialog. Results depend on hardware, drivers, platform and settings; consult subsequent patch notes too.
Mac and plugins
An Intel build running under Rosetta on an Apple Silicon Mac updates to the Apple Silicon build. This does not convert Intel Mac hardware. Third-party Intel plugins may stop loading after the switch, so find compatible builds first.
First recording
Download OBS from the official site. Create a scene, add a display or window source and an audio source, and watch the meters to avoid clipping. Select recording path and format, make a one-minute test, then check the file and synchronization. For streaming connect the service securely, run the setup wizard and test privately; adapt bitrate to measured upload capacity.
HDR and reliability
Use SDR-to-HDR only within a supported HDR workflow and inspect the result on the intended display and platform. Save scenes and profiles, check plugins and drivers, and inspect OBS logs for dropped frames or overloaded encoding. The release does not guarantee automatic quality gains.
